The National Council for the Traditional Arts (NCTA) The NCTA is the nation’s oldest multicultural arts presenting organization. For over eight decades, through festivals, tours, symposia, exhibits, and media productions, the NCTA has showcased the very best of the myriad grassroots folk, tribal and ethnic cultures that comprise our diverse nation.
The Richmond Folk Festival will celebrate its 16th anniversary the weekend of October 9-11 with a “virtual” event that will bring together the community through a special television program on VPM PBS Plus Channel 57.1, radio broadcasts on VPM Music (107.3 FM & 93.1 FM), and online streaming on the festival website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel. The virtual celebration will feature new musical performances that are exclusive to this festival, highlights of favorite artists from past festivals, cooking demonstrations, a riverfront art installation, fun family activities, and so much more! The show will go on—a virtual event celebrating the roots, richness, and variety of American culture.
